Nancy Bond wanted an elegant website for her thriving in-home health care business, but got sticker-shock after requesting quotes from web designers to refresh her existing site. Her plans to evolve the Emerald Care brand to include a new suite of service offerings hinged on having a web experience that clearly defined her company’s areas of expertise. While her existing website had great descriptive content for users, the site was very old, did not work on mobile devices and was visually antiquated.
New Website Requirements
In order to keep costs down and work within Emerald's budget, Suzanne’s proposed solution was to tailor an out-of-the-box website template to Emerald’s brand specifications, while reusing content from the existing Emerald Care website. The new website, featuring a custom slideshow on the landing page that visually tells the story of Emerald’s services and value add to clients, took just days to build. Suzanne architected an intuitive information hierarchy that allows users to absorb a high-level overview of Emerald’s suite of services, while offering persistent access to relevant deeper level content. Using fresh stock imagery targeted to Emerald’s audience gave the site the visual assurance the old site was lacking.
To create traction between Emerald's digital marketing channels, Suzanne assisted Emerald in onboarding Mail Chimp as their email marketing platform and light weight marketing CRM, embedding a Mail Chimp form on Emerald’s contact page, and setting-up an automated email response to all inquiries generated by the Mail Chimp website form.
Suzanne also updated Emerald's logo to anchor Emerald's brand identity on the website and all of their marketing materials. Even though the site was crafted from a template, the Emerald brand colors and fonts were used throughout to provide the custom feel Nancy was looking for and happily received at a reasonable price.
